What is a large memory box used for?

A large memory box is used to store important keepsakes, documents, and personal items that hold sentimental value. At Make Memento, our large memory boxes are ideal for baby keepsakes, milestone birthdays, wedding mementos, or memorial collections. With sizes ranging from 34cm to 65cm, they’re perfect for holding larger items like photo albums, A4 documents, soft toys, clothing, or memory books — all in one safe, stylish place.

What sizes do your large memory boxes come in?

Our large memory boxes range from 34cm up to 65cm in width. This includes our Large, Extra Large, and Deep Extra Large wooden boxes, as well as luxury pine and oak options for extra space. These boxes are perfect for storing bulkier items such as baby blankets, wedding keepsakes, or comprehensive memorial collections. A full size guide is provided to help you choose the perfect dimensions based on what you want to store.

Can I personalise a large memory box with names or dates?

Yes — all our large memory boxes are fully customisable. You can personalise the lid with engraved names, special dates, quotes, or even a custom message. Some designs also allow you to add a printed photo plaque or include additional personal touches, like a special occasion title (e.g. 'Mum’s Memory Box' or 'Harry’s First Years'). Each box is made to order and designed to reflect your exact requirements.

Are your large memory boxes available with a lock and key?

Yes, our large memory boxes come with the option to add a lock and key for added security. This feature is especially popular for storing personal letters, memorial items, or private family keepsakes. The padlock and clasp are chosen to complement the wooden design, offering both function and style. It’s an ideal option if you’re gifting a box or storing sensitive memories safely.

What can I keep in a large memory box from Make Memento?

You can keep a wide variety of meaningful items in a large memory box. These include baby clothes, milestone cards, A4 paperwork, large photo albums, scrapbooks, birthday cards, wedding invitations, dried flowers, heirloom items, sympathy letters, and seasonal mementos. Many customers use them to preserve the life story of a loved one or celebrate years of family memories in one beautiful place.

Is a large memory box a good gift idea?

Absolutely — a large memory box makes a deeply meaningful gift for special occasions like 30th, 40th, or 60th birthdays, new babies, anniversaries, weddings, and memorials. Personalised with names or messages, it’s a thoughtful way to honour someone’s life story or preserve memories that matter most. It’s a gift that continues to give, as the recipient can fill it over time with treasured items.
